I purchased this phone much less than a month ago. I followed all the directions when applying the phones for the initially time. I installed the batteries and place the handset on the charger. That was at 6pm at night. I let the handsets charge overnight and I went to operate the next morning. When I got home from work I began employing the phones. That was about a 20hr initial charge on the batteries. I would believe a great slow charge for nearly an complete day would have been the correct issue to do.
Phones worked fine for about three-4 weeks. Then each batteries died within 3 or four days of every single other. I got on the VTech internet site and followed their troubleshooting guide to the letter. I did exactly as they told me to do. Batteries still won't charge. I know the charging base is operating since I put to use a volt meter to check the output. The batteries each read volts and will not charge.
I contacted VTech help and their answer to the issue.... get this... 'send the entire telephone system back to them - AT MY EXPENSE.. and they'll appear into it.' Are you KIDDING me?!?!? I asked them to just send out two new batteries. Shouldn't expense them extra than about $8 for those 2 ni-MH batteries. The price they charge ($25apiece) is ridiculous. They are unwilling to just send me two new batteries. I am unwilling to devote $20 sending the complete stinkin' telephone back to them when it really is obviously just a couple defective batteries. I guess I'll buy aftermarket batteries AT MY EXPENSE and walk away with a lesson learned. VTech support stinks to high heaven! I'll Never ever get a different item, basically considering that of the way they have jerked me about over a couple $1.298 batteries. Pathetic!
These phones are amazing - I got them to replace some panasonics whose battery life has gotten seriously brief, and seem to randomly go dead for no reason even when charged. The panasonics had been additional high priced, but I like the V-Tech's superior - they really feel like they are a larger high quality phone, not cheaply created at all, even tho they are priced low-cost. Sound is crystal clear.
